Rebecca Henry is a vocalist, composer and plays piano and guitar. Rebecca has been writing her own material since the late 90s and had success being nominated for best Adult Contemporary artist, Best Alternative Artist and Best Female Vocalist in awards such as MusicOz and the ABC songwriting competitions. Rebeccas song Dont Say Goodbye was in the top 10 for the MP3 download charts and was recently in the top 40 of most watched Artists in Australia on Youtube.
Rebecca has been fortunate to have her song Ever Any Wonder, co-written with Brett Creswell, used on the campaign for Canteen to help raise money for kids with cancer and she continues to support such important charities.
Rebecca is an Ambassador and teacher for the Australian Childrens Music foundation, founded by renowned entertainer Don Spencer, OAM. The ACMF provides music programs for indigenous and underprivileged children.
Rebecca has supported some of Australians top artists, such as Rick Price, Darryl Braithwaite, James Reyne, Jon Stevens and Vanessa Amerosi. She has co-written songs with great Aussie songwriters such as Rick Grossman (Hoodu Gurus), Allan Caswell, (Prisoner theme song) Idris Jones, (The Mixtures) Don Spencer, OAM, Brett Creswell, Shimon Moore (Sick Puppies) and is currently writing songs for her album due out in 2012.
As part of the Hot August Night Tributes with Peter Byrne, Rebecca has also had the pleasure of singing with a 40 piece orchestra conducted by world renowned conductors Tommy Tico and Larry Muhoberac best known as Elvis Presleys keyboard player and movie arranger, but having also worked with Neil Diamond, Barbara Streisand, Jackson 5 and Ray Charles to name a few.
Rebeccas original songs have been played on local radio including the funky Bondi FM, ABC National, interactive Internet TV program The Basement Sessions with Doug Mulray and appeared on most major Networks including shows such as Nines Mornings with Kerrie-Anne, Channel 10 show The Resort, Fox Kids, Kids Cubs, Channel V, Chaos TV.
As a freelance vocalist Rebecca has sung on many varied music projects. Shes featured on albums for Indie Artists, ABC kids albums, radio commercials and mini-series (one with well known artist
Paul Mac). Recently Rebecca recorded all the backing vocals and promotional material for the stage show Hairspray.
Rebecca had a well earned break in 2008 to give birth to her little boy Jackson. With new songs and inspiration she is now hard at work recording her new album.
