Italian Accordion player in Sydney!

Lukas was born into a musical family tradition (Son of one of the best Italian Accordion players in Sydney if not Australia) and his musical studies began at early age of 6. It was at this age when he also began as a performer on both Piano and Accordion and continues to do this today performing full time.

In 1998, Lukas performed in “Sydney Sings the World” at the Sydney Town Hall in aid of ‘The Hope for the Children Foundation’. Other performers included The Beethoven Society of Australia Choir, Flautist- Jane Rutter, Soprano-Susan Johnston and conductor, world renowned Maestro Tommy Tycho A.M., M.B.E.

Early on in Lukas’ career, in 2004, he toured Germany and Austria as a leading member of the Accordion Society of Australia (ASA) Accordion Orchestra. They represented Australia amongst the other world leading accordion orchestras, playing Italian style accordion and other European styles.

In 2007, Lukas performed with his accordion at Hunter Valleys “Opera in the Vineyards” where he accompanied many of the best Italian accordion players in sydney and singers Teddy Tahu Rhodes and Amelia Farugia.

In 2009, Lukas attained Bachelor Of Music (Contemporary Performance on Piano) at the Australian Institute of Music, also working under some of the best Italian accordion players in Sydney.
Lukas has made featured performances in events, both as soloist and in larger bands/ensemble work.

This has included at one of the most prestigious venues, The Sydney Opera House and was invited to perform at the Capitol Theatre, in Sydney’s latest production of “The Fiddler on the Roof”.

Most recently Lukas has been with several bands including Forall Band and Sydney Choro Club.
He has performed at many festivals, some include: “Woodford Folk”, “Saltwater Freshwater”, “Peats Ridge” “WOMADelaide” “Fair Day” and “Floriade”

Typically he’s asked to specialise in a broad repertoire of Italian Accordion and European music as a Solo Accordionist. He plays a wide range of styles including Jazz, Folk, Italian, French, Greek, German, Brazilian and other Latin music.

He performs music as a solo accordionist or pianist but also duets or larger groups, for weddings, corporate event, shopping malls, sing-a-longs, and of course private parties.
